MUSIC POLICY |
|
**All members of BAYSO are required to
pay a $20 Music Deposit to cover the expense of music that is not returned to
the Librarians. If you fail to return practice music, you are required to pay
another music deposit before receiving new practice music. You have the right to
have your deposit returned at the
end of each year or carry it over to the next year.
The Librarians have the following music policy:
**Anyone wanting copies of performance music for practice must sign a request
form and give it to the Librarians. You have three weeks from the first
announcement to sign up for music.
**At the next rehearsal, pick up your music from the librarians in a folder with
your name on it. To be credited for returning music, you must return your
practice music in this folder.
**All practice music must be returned no later than one week after the
performance
date. Practice music must be returned before new music can be issued.
**Failure to return practice music will result in the loss of your music deposit
and you will be required to pay a new deposit before receiving any more practice
music.
**All music must be returned by the Memorial Day concert.

GENERAL CONDUCT |
|
We expect the very best conduct from all of our musicians and their families. This extends to rehearsals, performances and any time you represent the Blue Ash Youth Symphony Orchestra. We demand that anything that does not belong to us be used carefully and properly. Any damage will be the responsibility of the party involved. We are extremely fortunate to have the free usage of many items and our reputation for quality and care earns us that privilege.

PHONE TREE |
![]() |
If there is important information concerning a rehearsal, performance or other matter, the Phone Tree will be used. This procedure is very important to insure that everyone receives the information as soon as possible. An e-mail system may also be used and there should be something posted on the web page. Please, check your e-mail, phone answering machine, or web page if you have questions concerning the cancellation of a rehearsal or perfomance.

Xavier University |
![]() |
BAYSO is also continuing a musical relationship in conjunction with Xavier University’s Music Department, which will involve input from Xavier students and faculty with the students in the orchestra. We remain very excited about this opportunity for this group.

PARENT BOARD AND VOLUNTEERS |
![]() |
BAYSO is very dependent on parent volunteers to keep things running smoothly. Parent’s meetings are generally held the first Monday of each month, during the BAYSO rehearsal. Please check the schedule to confirm when the meetings are occurring. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend these meetings. At least one parent from each family must attend the first Parent’s Meeting of the new season, usually in September.
